Betty Turner

Betty Ann James was born February 25, 1950 to the late John M Lewis and Gracie James raised by the late Frances M Mobbley and Mattie Lewis. Betty Ann received her education in the Winston Salem Forsyth County School System. After graduating, she began working for Western Electric and after several years she began working for Slane Hosiery, and finally to Reynolds Tobacco Company from where she retired. Betty did not stop after retirement and soon she went on to work in the cafeteria of Winston-Salem State University and in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools. While working at Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools, the opportunity of crossing guard became available and Betty went on to becoming a crossing guard where she worked diligently until two weeks prior to her passing. Betty Ann James "The Missionary: Betty Ann was a member of the Zeta Amicae Organization. She was also an active, supportive and dedicated member of Narcotics Anonymous where she received a certificate for being 25 years clean. Betty was consecrated as the 1st Missionary of Abundant Life Christian Fellowship N.C, serving as a prayer warrior and intercessor. A Time For Memories: Betty Ann was preceded in death by her parents John M Lewis and Gracie James, Frances Mobbley and Mattie Lewis, one son, Alfred James, four sisters and four brothers. Betty Ann leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Tammy Miller(Daryl), Sumintra James ( David), three sons, Jimmie James (Angie),Keith Speas, Kevin Lewis(Lisa), five Granddaughters Nujaya Allen, Perculiar Glenn, Jasmine Cockerham, Makayla Hackett, Jasmine Miller, eleven grandsons, Ralph James(Kenya), Kelvin James, Eric Wright(April), Ronald Jones(Tara), Chrishon James (Kay),Stacey Brown, Nicholas James, Phil Jones, Barron Lewis, Darryl Miller, Adrian Smith, Anthony Turner, CJ Little and thirty two Great grandchildren. She also leaves seven brothers: Donald, John, Earl, Christopher, Lorenzo, Darryl, Danny, 6 sisters Josephine, Geraldine , Melanie, Sandra, Johnnie Mae,Glenda (Tye), special daughters Renee, Crystal, Niecy, Pam, Tracey, Special Sons Jamon, Arthur, Theodore, Dana, Ralph, Curtis, JB, devoted friends Vanessa Vinson, Yvonne Cheeks, Crystal Battle, Venita Johnson, Betty Rice, a very devoted friend Pamela Steele Burton, helpful friends Gloria, Joyce Hatckett, James Stout, A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
