Mrs. Margaret Davis White Aaron, affectionately known as “Oamie” or “Granny” by many, was born on July 14, 1933 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Coyt Davis & Joseph Gardner in Darlington, South Carolina. She passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Monday, April 4, 2022 at her residence. Margaret was a devoted domesticated woman who cooked and cleaned for a living as a caretaker. She nurtured and raised many of her grandchildren as well as great grandchildren; as well as nurturing and providing childcare services to many children from her Winston-Salem neighborhood. She also was the caretaker for a former Forsyth County Sheriff family. Margaret was a loving and caring person and took great pride in her family and sharing Jesus with many she came in contact with. She loved laughing and humoring others. Margaret is honored as the Founding Church Mother of New Hope Worship Center where she opened the doors of her home allowing her son-in law to host services in one of her back rooms. Mother Aaron began her battle with Alzheimers in 2016, she battled long and hard during this time period. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie James Aaron, Sr.; her parents; her three sons: Willie James Aaron, Jr., Frank Aaron, & Wallace Aaron; one son-in-law Clayton Huntley, Sr.; one grandson Calvin Bush; one sister Eva Johnson and two brothers: Leroy White & Tom Gardner; a devoted nephew Victor Crockett, and nephew Stephon Jackson. She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters: First Lady Shirley (Bishop Selmon) Green, Elder Mary (Kevin) Pendergrass, Elder Margaret Huntley, & Elder Linda Bussey. One sister Louvenia Wagner and one brother Joseph (Arnetta) Gardner, Sr. 23 grandchildren: Coyt (Lonnettra) Green, Timothy (Althea) Aaron, Kevin (Tammy) Green, Derrick (Cindy) Page,Jermaine Page, Michael (Regina) Houston, Felicia Green, Ra’Shanna Aaron, Kenneth Cole, Claynette Huntley, Paris Cook, Tyrone Green, Stacy (Clifton) Craven II,Tracy Huntley, WIllie Cook, Kevin Pendergrass, Cliffton Huntley, Sharon Houston, & Cedric Liles, Sr. 57 great- grandchildren, 26 great great-grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
