Evelyn Janetta Talbert Roberts passed on to her heavenly resting home on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at home in Lexington, NC .Evelyn Roberts was a graduate of Dunbar High School and attended Bennett College studying Biology. She was co-owner of Roberts Oil Company for forty-one years. She was also a substitute teacher in the Lexington City School system. started helping with the elections from 1974 to 2003 and worked as chief judge for Ward 5 precinct. She volunteered at the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club site on East Fourth Street, teaching arts & crafts. She was a seamstress and an excellent cook. She loved her family and friends and never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her parents General J. C. and Alberta Talbert; husband, Franklin D. Roberts; son, Rollin E. Roberts; sister, Dorothy R. Talbert; brothers, Wayne and Don Re Talbert. She leaves to cherish most dear and precious memories, her daughter, Sondra D. Roberts; and grandson, Lamar Cassell; brothers, Paul Talbert, Sr. (Jean), Kenneth Talbert, Sr., Dwight Talbert, Sr. (Linda); sisters, Kiwana Crump, Brenda Talbert, Irma Talbert, and Norma Talbert; sisters-in-law, Minnie Roberts and Mary Talbert; special nephews, Dwight Talbert, Jr., Bryant Talbert, Warren Talbert, and Adrian Bass; special nieces, Julia Crump, Pam Crump, Karen Crump, and Beverly Roberts; a host of other relatives, as well as many, appreciated friends
